Portuguese youth international on the radar of United
19 year old Sporting Lisbon winger Carlos Mane is the latest name to fall on Manchester United boss David Moyes’ radar, and he will be keen to follow in the footsteps of another
Sporting teenage product who proudly wore the Red Devils’ jersey – Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mane is a Portuguese youth international and according to the Daily Mirror, turned a lot of heads in the NextGen tournament. The youngster has been associated with Sporting Lisbon for 12 years and is currently a regular for their B-team, which plays in the Portuguese second division. He also made his debut for Sporting’s senior team in October and is already drawing a lot of attention.
The youngster is reportedly available for a real steal, as his current contract contains a buyout clause of just 1 million pounds, making him a completely risk free investment for the Premier League giants.
Manchester United fans are likely to welcome the signing of young Mane, but he seems to be an Everton-type signing by David Moyes, rather than the usual high profile stars that United typically go in for, and at a time when the first team needs strengthening, the fans will hope that Moyes turns his attention towards players who can make an immediate impact at the club.
